Why Should I Volunteer for Clinical Research at Texas Dermatology?

Volunteering for one of our clinical research efforts is a great way to receive medical services at no cost and experience the benefits of treatments and medications that are not yet available to the general public.

Throughout the study, you will also learn in-depth information about your skin condition that helps you manage the condition and understand how to manage the symptoms and treat the problems. In most cases, our participants are paid for their travel expenses and time in the form of a stipend, which is a lump sum payment.

How Do I Apply for Clinical Research?

  1. Review our current areas of clinical research for which we need volunteers.
  2. Complete the application.
  3. Complete the screening process to make sure that you are a good candidate for the clinical research.
  4. Participate with a pre-defined time and availability commitment. You may be required to take medications as directed and attend all scheduled appointments, so please make sure that the requirements of the study fit into your schedule.

Will I Need to Pay for Anything If I Volunteer for Clinical Research?

You are not charged to participate in clinical research at Texas Dermatology, and we cover all of your expenses that are related to the research. You are compensated once you complete the research study.

What Else Do I Need to Know About Participating in Clinical Research?

We provide details of the clinical research for which you apply prior to the onset of the effort. You will sign an informed consent that describes the primary elements of the trial and explains why we are conducting the research, what is required of you, potential risks and benefits, treatment alternatives, potential costs (if applicable), and more. Please ask any questions that you have before joining the research study.
