DERMAPLANING IN SAN ANTONIO, TX
WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?
Dermaplaning is a type of exfoliation treatment that exfoliates the skin through the use of a surgical scalpel. Exfoliation should be a part of your routine skincare, as it helps keep the surface bright and prevents clogged and enlarged pores.
HOW MUCH DOES DERMAPLANING COST?
Dermaplaning costs vary based on the extent of the treatment. We can best discuss the cost of your treatment after your consultation with one of our dermatology practitioners. Texas Dermatology does offer financing options through CareCredit® & PatientFi if you would like to make payments on the cost of your dermaplaning treatment and other medical spa services at our practice.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DERMAPLANING?
- Exfoliates the skin
- Brightens the complexion
- Helps with superficial fine lines
- May reduce acne outbreaks
- Improves makeup application
- Allows skincare products to penetrate deeper
- Removes unwanted facial hair
AM I A CANDIDATE FOR DERMAPLANING?
Dermaplaning is considered safe for most skin types. We may recommend other options if you have severe acne or other conditions that may worsen with the treatment. Once that condition is well-managed, you can have dermaplaning to maintain skin health. Dermaplaning is an excellent alternative to chemical peels for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
HOW IS DERMAPLANING PERFORMED?
Dermaplaning is performed by one of our trained aestheticians. A surgical scalpel is held at an angle against the skin and slowly pulled across the surface. This process removes dead skin, oils, dirt, and other impurities.
WHAT IS THE RECOVERY LIKE AFTER DERMAPLANING?
No recovery is needed after your dermaplaning treatment. Your skin may be slightly red for a few hours. We may recommend that you avoid certain skincare products for the first 24 hours to allow the skin to calm and pores to adjust.
HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE DERMAPLANING TREATMENTS?
Monthly dermaplaning treatments keep your skin healthy and remove any surface issues before the oils and dirt get trapped inside the pores. We may recommend that you have dermaplaning treatments more or less often depending on any concerns that you have, as well as your age and other factors.
